(Junior) Financial Controller

We’re looking for a (Junior) Financial Controller to keep our finances in top shape as we scale. Are you passionate about numbers, efficient processes, and financial accuracy? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can make a real impact? If so, this role may be for you 👇

About the role: 

• Handle vendor invoice processing, ensuring accurate coding, timely payments, and managing purchase orders, including running a PO check at month-end. Also, verify and control credit card transactions to ensure expenditures are within budget and compliant with company policies.
• Generate customer invoices based on contracts, manage the Order to Cash flow, and track collections.
• Perform bank reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and manage customer account reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closings by preparing key reports such as AP/AR aging and variance analyses, and contribute to budget preparation and forecasting efforts.
• Help with general ledger maintenance, posting journal entries, conducting reconciliations, and collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth data flow and accurate financial reporting.
• Assist in credit control, identifying overdue balances and initiating collection efforts when necessary to improve cash flow management.
• Provide support for internal and external audits by preparing required documentation, offering explanations, and ensuring compliance with company standards.
• You will directly report to our Finance Director.

About You:

• You hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field with 1-3 years of experience in accounting or finance (AP/AR focused).
• You’re skilled in accounting principles, financial reporting, and Excel, and experience with Exact Online is a plus.
• You are detail-oriented with strong organisational skills and you excel at managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• You communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• You are fluent in English and at least level B2 in Dutch (necessarily for communicating with local customers). 

This is a 40-hour hybrid role with some flexibility.
