Supply Chain Quality Engineer

    • Amsterdam, Netherlands

Job description

Who are we?

We're a smart hydration company rebuilding an industry that still runs on sugar water and single-use packaging.
Filtered water, functional flavors, zero bottles. Still, sparkling, cold, and hot. All poured from one tap. We create hydration people want to reach for, starting with the workplace where we help teams thrive.

As an AI-native company, we build at speed. In 2025, Aquablu ranked 2nd in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 (Netherlands) and 30th in the Sifted 250 (Europe), both rankings of the fastest-growing companies by revenue growth. In 2026 we were named a winner of Maya's Culture 100 Europe Awards as one of the best workplaces to thrive in.

Growing that fast and thriving comes down to our people. Our team is our biggest asset and one that we’re proud of. We’re committed to maintaining our vibrant culture as we continue to grow.

The Role

You own the quality of our supplier base across that whole arc. Qualification at the front end, taking new suppliers and parts from Milestone 1 to Milestone 3 through our lightweight PPAP/APQP process. Then everything after, which is where a part spends most of its life: audits, scorecards, incoming quality, and corrective action when something fails. You'll run both for the REFILL+ supplier base already in production and for the new product line ramping toward it.

Our approach is risk-weighted on purpose, concentrated on the highest-risk moments, and that only works when the person running it knows why each step exists and can decide what to skip.

What You'll Own

  • Qualify new suppliers. Run CTQ definition sessions with suppliers and R&D. Review and challenge process flows, SIPOCs, DFMEAs, and measurement reports before they become someone else's problem.

  • Judge the capability. Assess Cp/Cpk, and build a credible plan B when a supplier can't produce formal capability data.

  • Close out approval properly. Visual approvals on aesthetic parts, master sample approval, the binding quality agreement, and tooling agreements that cover cost, ownership, IP, and quality.

  • Audit what's already running. Plan and run periodic audits of qualified suppliers, checking that the process, tooling, and controls agreed at qualification are still the ones in use.

  • Track performance over time. Build and maintain a scorecard per supplier: defect rates, on-time delivery, responsiveness, corrective-action closure. Use the trends to open improvement conversations early and escalate the suppliers that don't move.

  • Own the failures. When a delivered part fails, you run the supplier side end to end. Containment, root cause with the supplier, corrective action, and verification that it held.

  • Be the single quality voice. Every supplier quality conversation routes through you, across qualification and ongoing production. One consistent message toward the supplier, not four teams sending different ones.

  • Keep the documentation alive. Control plans, SIPOCs, measurement reports, and PSWs, co-developed with suppliers on critical parts. The control plan updates as trial and production data confirm or contradict what you assumed at the start.

What You Bring

  • Hands-on APQP and PPAP experience in manufacturing or product development.

  • Experience with ongoing supplier quality management: audits, scorecards, and supplier corrective action.

  • The ability to read and assess technical drawings, tolerances, and CTQ characteristics.

  • A working command of process capability (Cp/Cpk) and statistical quality methods.

  • Documentation discipline. You create and maintain structured quality records without being chased for them.

  • Proof you can run workstreams without someone setting your priorities each week.

  • Confidence as the quality-facing point of contact with suppliers, and clarity with technical and non-technical people alike.

  • Fluent English.

  • The right to work in the Netherlands. We're not an IND sponsor, so we can't sponsor a visa.

  • You're available at least 4 days on-site in our Amsterdam office in Houthavens.

Helps, But Not Required

  • Distilling heavyweight quality processes into pragmatic, risk-weighted ones.

  • Building quality inside a scaling company without slowing it down.

  • Working across a supplier base that spans multiple part types and geographies.

  • AI in your daily workflow, and a builder's instinct.
